LAHORE, June 14: Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool will inaugurate ‘large taxpayers unit’ (LTU) at the Tax House, Nabha Road, here on Thursday (tomorrow).

According to Income Tax department officials, the new facility will help the corporate sector to pay taxes in a hassle-free manner.

This is the second LTU in the country after the Karachi’s which is in operation since July 1, 2002.

It will be an integrated tax administration, covering all taxes such as income tax, sales tax and central excise duty.

Officials hope that this integration is likely to reduce irritants to taxpayers and ensure smooth functioning of the tax administration.—APP
