KARACHI, Jan 10: Filthy water overflowing from some chocked sewerage line in North Nazimabad’s Block ‘A’ is posing serious health hazards to the inmates of around 100 houses.

Residents of the affected locality complained that the sewage water coming out from a chocked sewerage line in front of House No C-193, had created stinking atmosphere in the locality and resulted in the choking of their internal sewerage system.

The worst affected houses of the locality belonging to ‘B’ category include 88, 89, 90, 92, 98, 100, 100, 101, 102 and that of ‘C’ category are 169, 171, 188, 191, 193, 196 and 197.

The office-bearers of the Anjuman-i-Falah of North Nazimabad’s Block ‘A’, regretted that although an extremely filthy environment had been persisting in the locality for the last one week, the KWSB’s executive engineer and sub-engineer, with whom they had lodged a number of complaints, had not yet taken measures to rectify the fault.

The residents of CP Berar and Memon Cooperative housing societies complained that dirty water often kept on overflowing from chocked gutters.

They said that the people visiting the nearby Darul Uloom Amjadia are the worst affected people owing to sewage water.

They demanded of the KWSB managing director to replace the wornout sewerage lines.

SHORTAGE: People residing in the Maqboolabad Cooperative Housing Society complained that they had been deprived of water for the last nine days, but the concerned officials of the KWSB had not taken measures to restore normal supply.

They said although they had brought the issue into the notice of concerned officials of the KWSB and the Nazim of Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town, water supply to their locality had not yet been restored.
