Trump extends good wishes for PM Khan during meeting with Qureshi

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who is in New York to attend the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), on Tuesday met US President Donald Trump in New York and discussed matters relating to bilateral relations.
Talking to the PTV, Qureshi said that President Trump, during an informal meeting at a luncheon in New York, extended good wishes for Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The foreign minister said he apprised the US president about the persistent need to "rephrase the historic relations between Pakistan and the US", adding that during the meeting he found the attitude of President Trump to be positive.
During the gathering, Qureshi said he also met US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and his wife. A special meeting with Secretary Pompeo was scheduled for October 2, he added.
Meanwhile, FM Qureshi held a meeting with Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on the sidelines of the UNGA, Radio Pakistan reported.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on matters of mutual interest and enhancing of cooperation on various sectors.

Thank goodness we have an experienced foreign minister at last. Lets pray this statesman can correct the ill effects or previous govts foolish decision to have no one in this post to protect our national interests at international forums weakening our foreign policy and standing. Indians used this as golden opportunity to bash us at international level isolating us. Only now are we reversing this.

FM is wasting his time in Newyork enjoying vacation on tax payer money. Never heard any foreign Minister in woeld spending more than 10 days in UN .So far in his 30 days minister ship spend about 15 days abroad and achieved any progress zero. No one check and balance spend huge amount of money staying in hotels flights etc.

Without prejudice to former PM Nawaz let me pen nothing but hard facts that Nawaz when attended UN assembly lived in the same hotel where US President lived believing that he may get a chance to say hello to President even in the hotel corridor if not otherwise but Nawaz utterly failed to meet US President and Nawaz drained our hard earned foreign exchange by staying in so very expensive hotel for nothing. Why and how none questioned Nawaz on burning our money? However India PM stayed in a cheaper hotel but yet he met US President. Now Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi is not our PM but Foreign Minister and yet not only he could meet US President but also molded him to be soft towards Pakistan. Well done Makhdoom you have proved the difference between old Pakistan run by Nawaz and Naya Pakistan ruled by Imran. Iqbal Hadi Zaidi
