GUJRANWALA, June 13: Work on Sheikhupura Morr to Khiali Bypass Road has been started at a cost of Rs40 million after the release of funds by the government. This was stated by PPP (Patriot) MNA Imranullah Chaudhry while speaking at a meeting here on Monday. He pointed out that Rs20 million had been provided by the federal government for the carpeting of the road.
The MNA said that the federal government was assisting in completing uplift projects in the city besides providing power supply and gas to remote areas.
He expressed the hope that the construction work of the road would be completed within the stipulated period.
SNATCHED: Four robbers deprived an industrialist of his car on Wahando Road and escaped after a brief encounter with the police here on Monday.
Hafizur Rehman Virk was on his way to Hamidpur village when he was intercepted by armed robbers and snatched his car. In the meantime, a police party reached there and tried to arrest the culprits, but they opened fire on them. The police also returned the fire as a result of which they left the vehicle near Chandali village and managed to escape from the scene.
