ISLAMABAD, June 13: The visiting All-Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) delegation met Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro here on Monday and discussed the situation in Indian-held Kashmir. The delegates briefed the Senate chairman about their ongoing visit to Pakistan. The delegation members included Prof Abdul Ghani Bhatt, Maulvi Abbas Ansari, Fazal-i-Haq Qureshi and Maulana Abdullah Tari.

Talking to the delegation, Mr Soomro said Pakistani people had great respect for the Kashmiri people who were struggling for their right to self-determination.

He underlined the need for resolution of the Kashmir issue in line with the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He termed the APHC leaders’ visit a historic step that provided an opportunity to hold detailed discussion on Kashmir issue with the Kashmiri leadership.

The Senate chairman paid tributes to Kashmiris who were struggling for their freedom.
