KHAIRPUR, June 13: A delegation of about 20 organizations of the city held a meeting with the divisional superintendent, railways, Sukkur, superintending engineer, Hesco, Sukkur, and executive engineers of Hesco, Khairpur and Ranipur divisions, at the circuit house here on Sunday.

Pakistan Muslim League-F MNA Syed Javed Ali Shah, nazims of different union councils and others also attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed issues of power load-shedding, detection bills and suspension of railway stops of nine trains at the Khairpur railway station.

It was decided that the Shalimar Express, Chenab Express, Khyber Mail, Millat Express and the Balochistan Night Coach would stop at the railway station.

The meeting also decided that the divisional superintendent, railways, would send recommendations to Pakistan Railways authorities to allow stops of the Karakoram Express and the Karachi Express at Khairpur.

A committee, comprising members of the Anjuman-i-Tajiran and railways officials, was constituted for regular consultation and resolution of problems being faced at the Khairpur railway station.

The meeting was told that there had been no power supply to Akri and its surrounding areas for two days. Participants from Setharja, Thari Mirwah, Pakka Chang and other areas complained of power load-shedding and detection bills.
