NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, June 13: Twenty-one passengers of a bus were injured when a Shikarpur-bound bus coming from Karachi fell in a ditch on the National Highway near Halani on Monday six of the injured are women. Reports said that the bus (JA-9659) fell into the ditch when its driver while trying to save a van coming from the opposite direction, fell into the ditch. As a result 21 passengers, including six women, were injured.

They included Ms Masooda Chandio (Kotdiji), Ms Abida, Ms Maryam, Ms Yasmin, Ms Aqsa (Kotdiji), Mohammad Nawaz (Shikarpur), Asadullah (Habibabad), Imtiaz Hussain, Altaf Hussain, Waqar Ahmed, Allahdino, Mohammad Yousuf Abro and others.

The injured were shifted to the Kandiaro taluka hospital from where Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Yousuf, Asadullah, Ms Masooda and Ms Aqsa were referred to the People’s Medical College Hospital, Nawabshah, while eight others were admitted to the Kandiaro taluka hospital.

The driver of the bus fled after the accident. No FIR was lodged till the filing of the report.

The consumers, including Haji Abdul Hameed Phull, Amir Bux Phull, Hafeez Phull and their sons, residents of the Bapho village, complained that electricity supply to them was suspended by the Hesco from the main supply line as two consumers in the village were defaulters.

They appealed the Hesco authorities to look into their grievances.
