PM Khan to leave for Saudi Arabia on Tuesday

Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Saudi Arabia on a two-day tour from Sept 18 on the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, read a statement issued by the PM Office.

The premier will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Finance Minister Asad Umar and the prime minister's adviser on commerce, the statement read.

During his visit, PM Khan will hold meetings with the king and the crown prince. He will also attend a state banquet at the Royal Court.

Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen will also hold a meeting with the premier, the PM Office said.

The ministers accompanying PM Khan will also meet their Saudi counterparts to discuss bilateral issues.

The prime minister will also perform Umra and visit Madinah to pay his respects. On Sept 19 the prime minister and his delegation will travel to the United Arab Emirates where they will be received by Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

This will be Khan's first foreign tour as prime minister.

Hopefully he made them understand that it is in best interest of all Muslims Nation to resolve the differences by negotiating instead of war. Muslims notations are buying billions of dollars worth weapons to fight or protect from Muslim countries. Consider why war never ends some countries are keeping employment high at the expenses of other nations and human.

Although a good decision to visit and renew very cordial relations with Saudi and UAE Governments but, Mr. Khan had very clearly stated on his assumption of office of the PM that, he would not visit any foreign country during the first 3 months of his governance., that is now first 100 days of his doing necessary alignments

I hope he won’t travel on first class (govt bans first class traveling for govt officers / officials). Secondly on August 2, 2018 govt bans foreign traveling for next three months.

Help from Saudis is not without conditions and loyal association with their causes. Most of all, their closeness with US policy needs to be understood. Funny enough, SA was first choice for president Trump also which resulted in anti-Iran steps from washington. Saudis will expect a similar shift away from Iran, is Pakistan prepared for that? We already have trouble in our relationship with two neighbours (India, Afghanistan), can we afford another animosity? We will further become dependent on China, Chinese have their own interest and look for maximum benefit for their nation and businesses, we should not drive ourselves into situation where we keep signing away our country and control on our precious resources.Geo Pakistan. Loan from IMF or World is better choice, they impose economic conditions but not political and other.

Nothing has changed. Same old story. Visiting Saudis for funds. There is no such thing like free lunch. Who so ever give you money , has its conditions underneath that. Forget about brother hood etc. No money in the kitty. No option is the reply.

In his first speech, PM promised to the nation that before 3 months he will not go on a foreign trip. Are 3 months over? He also said the country won't fight any foreign war? Is he going to bring back his army from Saudi Arabia?
