RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) will hold a Gems and Jewellery Exhibition in Islamabad between Sept 14 and 16.
Speaking at a press briefing, RCCI President Zahid Latif Khan said the exhibition will give businesspeople the opportunity to showcase the best of Pakistani gemstones, diamonds, jewellery and minerals from across the country.
There will be more than 60 stalls showcasing precious stones, gems, ornaments and silver, gold and diamond jewellery.
The event aims to attract foreign investment in unconventional sectors to promote small and medium enterprises, he explained.
Mr Khan said Pakistan has always focused on traditional sectors to increase exports, but must look for new opportunities and sectors such as gems and jewellery to attract foreign investment, as countries such as Thailand, Sri Lanka and Central Asian states have shown interest.
