GWADAR: At least eight persons said to have gone missing up to three years ago have returned to Gwadar and Panjgur areas, officials said on Wednesday.

They said that seven persons who were missing since long were handed over to police in Panjgur town while another man returned home in Gwadar after a long absence.

Sardar Akhtar Mengal, the president of the Balochistan Nat­ional Party (BNP-Men­gal), had signed a six-point agreement with the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf for supporting the party in the elections for the prime minister and president. And the main point of the agreement was recovery of the missing persons.

The seven persons who returned to Panjgur were: Abdul Hameed, son of Mohammad Hussain; Naveed Ahmed, son of Haji Iqbal; Siraj, son of Imamuddin; Abdul Qudoos, son of Noor Bakhsh; Abdul Rasheed, son of Gul Mohammad; Mohammad Saeed, son of Mohammad Karim; and Hasan, son of Umaid Ali.

Sources said they were missing for the last five months to three years and belonged to the Chitkan, Kalag, Essa and Tump areas.

“Minor cases were registered against them that will be disposed of and they will be freed soon,” a senior officer at the Panjgur police station said.

A missing man — identified as Abdul Ghaffar, son of Abdul Ghafoor — returned to his home in Gwadar. He was missing for the last three years.
