RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has decided to improve facilities at the Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC).
The council will focus on the designing and landscaping of the arts council to reflect culture of Punjab more effectively.
Decisions were also taken to improve the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system of the auditorium. Better chairs are being fixed in the auditorium and work on the performing arts gallery will be completed as early as possible.
This was informed in the meeting held at the RAC presided over by Director Development Rawalpindi Noreen Bashir and RAC Director Waqar Ahmed.
The meeting was attended by RAC Deputy Director Sajjad Hussain, senior officers from architecture, building, Nespak and other department also attended the meeting.
Director Development Rawalpindi Noreen Bashir said that RAC would play its role in the promotion of art and culture in the Potohar region in more effective manner after its improvement of facilities.
She said the process of improvement of facilities in the RAC should be completed at the fast pace and quality of work should not be comprmised.
RAC Director Waqar Ahmed said a comprehensive planning has been made to improve facilities at the RAC, and it will be more helpful in the promotion of art and culture. He said the need for performing art academy was being felt for long and the academy would give a better chance to learn art and culture in the region.
