KARACHI: Benazir Bhutto Shaheed girls basketball team clinched the Defence Day title here at the Arambagh courts on Sunday.

They defeated the strong Flight Lt Marium Mukhtar Shaheed XI in a well fought contest by 34-32.

For Benazir Bhutto XI, the main scorers were Ayesha Ijlal (10 points), Hareena Sajjad (9 points) and Nazia Ahmed (6 points).

For the losing side, Meera (8 points), Rija Safdar (7 points) and Mehreen (6 points) played well.

PSWA patron Shahida Parveen was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed the prizes and trophies among the team captains and the players. She also paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Pak Army for their tremendous sacrifices for the nation.
