Govt to highlight its major policy decisions in media

The federal govt on Sunday announced that it will highlight its major policy decisions as part of its new strategy for media, DawnNewsTV reported.
The decision was taken during a media strategy meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan at his Banigala residence in Islamabad, according to Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry.
During the meeting, also attended by other high-level members of the govt, it was decided that special focus will be put on "the PM's austerity drive, the abolishing of his discretionary powers and the appointment of a middle-class individual as the Punjab chief minister".
It was also agreed upon that "the details of the previous PML-N government's extravagant expenditures will be exposed to the public."
Furthermore, the caucus decided that "briefings will be given on the abject conditions created by the previous government in economic, and especially, in the power and energy sectors."
"All decisions will be taken after consultations and taking the parliament into confidence ," said the information minister's statement.
PTI's media strategy is a "way to promote their lies": PML-N
Later on, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb slammed the PTI govt's media strategy, and labelled it a way "to promote their lies and u-turns even more".
"The federal government has devised a media strategy to hide its 80 billion worth of corruption in Peshawar metro and do fake image building of the cabinet," she said.
Aurangzeb claimed that "Imran Khan is not capable of thinking beyond the politics of containers" and accused him of "targeting his rivals" for political vengeance.

The people knows all extravaganzas of PML(N) and PPP, in a decade the high ups of these two parties, looted the nation with spades. people do not wish to learn more, no back biting, simply actions, bring back the money, freeze their accounts,not like NBP 10 accounts where money was transferred even after freeze, and this happened in PTI tenure. Please ask NBP how that happened. Pak needs money why not take money from corrupt politicians today. The issues of trade deficit can be resolved, as well as dams could be built.

Yes, public want to know PMLN's expenditures and how and where they spent the tax payers money and, more importantly, what progress was made, etc. It would be interested to know full facts, and what happened to well publicized 'Saff Manni' and 'Orange Train' projects, etc.

At the very outset let me say it in quite crystal clear terms without any shadow of doubt and ambiguity that I am initiating an academic discussion and hence it should not be painted otherwise. I think PM Imran terribly missed the very right and ripe opportune and he should have included it in his maiden address to the nation saying that he will expose and publicize as to how much and through what means PML (N) has burnt our national exchequer for all these years. The nation was shocked to learn that PM House had only over 500 employees and 80 cars including 18 bullets proof. I really fail to understand and wonder as to how my compatriots working in the government in particular and private sector in general did not know this all extravagance which had been practiced for years not just months or weeks and if they knew then all those who still voted for PML (N) on 25th July 2018 must not be spared but questioned to interrogate as to what rationale obliged them to vote for PML (N)? There is a lot going around about PTI government decision making process, some are quoting Qaid's statement, about one must think 100 times before making decision, once the decision is made stand firm on it. Well in democracy decisions are made by people, once for a change there is a government in Pakistan that is showing respect to the views of majority of people. If gov't is changing their decision in public response, is'nt that what a democrat would want ? Not too long ago people were appointed with blatant disregard of people's protests, have we forget so quickly ?

The ramenants of Musharraf n mostly corrupt can't do any good merely rhetoric.They could not bring to public the steps on economy.To bring back foreign assets is hollow slogan.Can FM give break up of such assets how many related to money laundering, tax evasion n earned by corrupt practices.Mostly as s learnt is major chunk expatriates earned there.They wd not be inclined to send here for various reasons mainly for investment there.Besides foreign govts who give incentive to invest there wd never cooperate to send even illegal moneys which they had been encouraging to bring to their respective country n granting nationalities. Their rhetoric wd soon be exposed.

It is good to expose corruption of past governments but PTI government has also to fulfill promises made for the first ninety days. So far no concrete steps taken in this regard. There is no plan how to bring looted money.if that money would have been brought back there was even no need for the donation campaign. No clarifty is regarding employment plans for youth and how the economy will be improved.

One has to love the way Pakistani politicians pluck corruption related figures out of thin air, and even more so how they become the norm on every tongue. Perhaps one ought to ask Maryam Aurangzeb where she got this figure 80 billion rupees corruption figure in Peshawar metro. I am not sure if Peshawar metro has that sort of budget.

Madam, by implication, your leader Nawaz Sharif, was capable of thinking beyond the politics of containers. See what he did for the country. No one is talking about him now, even in your own party.
