LONDON, June 11: Bangladesh’s build-up to the one-day series against England and Australia suffered another setback on Friday when they lost by six wickets against Derbyshire. Already walloped in the two Tests by Michael Vaughan’s men, the tourists were beaten in the day-night match in Derby with 11.5 overs to spare leaving them with just one more warm-up against Worcestershire on Sunday before facing England at The Oval next Thursday.

Only a fourth-wicket stand of 80 between skipper Habibul Bashar and Tushar Imran rescued Bangladesh from an even worse defeat but they never looked capable of mounting a serious challenge after making just 189.

Steve Stubbings set the pace for the chase with 45 from 43 balls before Jon Moss and skipper Luke Sutton put on a match-winning stand of 106.

Moss top-scored with 72.

Bangladesh started miserably with Nafis Iqbal run out without facing a single delivery before his team slumped to 19-3 before Habibul and Tushar came together.

But Tushar was run out for 40 and Bashar fell one short of his fifty, one of three victims for Nick Walker who also claimed the wickets of Khaled Mashud (one) and Aftab Ahmed (26).
