Joint body on budget irritants

Published June 12, 2005

KARACHI, June 11: Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President Ch Muhammad Saeed has announced that a joint committee of FPCCI and Karachi Sales Tax Bar Association (KSTBA) will be constituted to compile the irritants under Sales Tax provisions in budget 2005-2006 for presentation to the government.

He made the announcement at a post-budget seminar on “Sales Tax proposals 2005-2006” held on Saturday at Federation House here, under joint auspices of FPCCI and KSTBA.

The FPCCI president spelled out the budgetary measures which may discourage businessmen and industrialists. He stated that sales tax refund within 90 days was an encouraging step but this period seemed to be quite long and called for its reduction.—APP
