Unilateral decision

HYDERABAD, June 10: Afzal Gujjar, chief selector, had alleged that the secretary District Cricket Association (DCA) Hyderabad, Faisal Hameed has made unilateral changes in the U-19 team announced earlier by the association’s selectors.

The team included those four players, who were named in 20-member squad.

Now they have been replaced without consulting the selectors. Hyderabad has played two matches, losing and winning one each.

The team announced earlier included Faizan Mohib, Ahmer Bilal, Hyder Abbas and Majid Asghar.

The players have now been replaced by Shan Saeed, Hafeezur Rehman, Fahad Zaman and Bilal Hashmi.

“When I asked Faisal Hameed as to why changes have been made despite announcement of the team, duly endorsed by him, he said that he has been elected by people and he has to accommodate players of some of his voters’ clubs,” alleged Afzal.
