SHIKARPUR, June 10: Khidmat-i-Khalq Foundation (KKF) organised a function to distribute a variety of goods among poor and deserving people at Liaquat Park here on Friday evening.

The zonal in-charge of MQM Shikarpur, Agha Sher Khan Pathan, and activists of the zone had organised the function on behalf of the KKF.

Addressing the function from London on telephone, Muttahida chief Altaf Hussain appealed to the local people to join MQM and extend their cooperation to enable the Muttahida to serve the masses without any discrimination.

He said the people were facing a number of problems created by selfish and opportunist politicians, sardars, waderas and bureaucrats to meet their ulterior motives.

MQM central Rabita Committee leader Farooq Sattar, on behalf of Khidmat-e-Khalq-Foundation, distributed water coolers, pedestal fans, wheel chairs, crutches, push-carts with two bags of vegetables each, food packs of atta, ghee, sugar, tea, dry milk, ready-made clothes, sewing machines and other items of daily use to about 450 deserving people including widows, orphans and the disabled.

Earlier, Agha Sher Khan Pathan, Riaz Ahmed, Mohammad Ismail Qureshi and other MQM leaders addressed the gathering and highlighted the aims and objectives of the MQM and its programmes for the welfare of the people.
