HYDERABAD, June 10: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal held a demonstration at Seroghat after the Friday congregation in protest against desecration of Holy Quran by American troops, terrorist attacks on religious places and murder of former MPA Aslam Mujahid in Karachi.

MMA district president Abdul Waheed Qureshi, Jamaat-i-Islami leader Shaikh Shaukat Ali and Nizamul Hyderi accused the Pakistani rulers of working on American agenda and spreading obscenity and vulgarity in the country in the name of enlightened moderation.

They said America had now admitted that its troops were guilty of desecrating the Holy Book.

They said the government should now demand the arrest of guilty soldiers and a public apology from America.

They demanded the murderers of Aslam Mujahid, Tahir Jamal and Farhan in Karachi should be arrested accusing a government party of the murders.

They also condemned the attack on the religious places by the terrorists.

Meanwhile, a protest demonstration was also held at Qadamgah Maula Ali after Juma prayers to condemn terrorist attacks on the shrine of Imam Bari in Islamabad and Madinat-ul-Ilm mosque in Karachi and the murders of Jamaat-i-Islami leaders Aslam Mujahid and Tahir Jamal.

Allama Altaf Hussain Al-Hussaini, Allama Mohammad Ali Jarwar and others took strong exception to the

statement of President

General Pervez Musharraf during his recent tour of foreign countries that Shias and Sunnis were killing one another in Pakistan.

They said there was no sectarian dispute in the country but innocent people were being killed under a planned conspiracy at the instance of America.

They criticized MQM leader Farooq Sattar for branding the Millat-i-Jafria as a terrorist organization and demanded that he should withdraw the statement.
