BELGRADE, June 9: The United States is resuming financial aid to Serbia and Montenegro following progress in Belgrade’s cooperation with the Hague-based war crimes tribunal, US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Nicholas Burns said on Thursday.

“The United States as of today is announcing the resumption of economic and other assistance to Serbia and Montenegro.”

“The US will now continue its efforts to work with Serbia and more than 10 million dollars of US assistance will be unfrozen and will now proceed,” Mr Burns told reporters here.—AFP
