KARACHI, June 9: A brilliant century by promising Sarfraz Ahmed propelled Zone-VI Whites into the semifinals of the KCCA Under-19 Inter-zonal cricket tournament with a four-wicket win against Zone-I Whites at the KCCA Stadium on Wednesday.

Batting first, Zone-I Whites made 231 for six in 50 overs. Anan Arif scored 64 with six fours and one six while Hafiz Butt (47, five fours) and Umar Butt (47, four fours) also batted well.

Off-spinner Farrukh Rizvi grabbed four for 79.

Zone-VI Whites reached their target with nine deliveries to spare. Wicket-keeper/batsman Sarfraz led the way with 103 that included seven boundaries.

Waqas Haroon, who had earlier taken two wickets, struck five fours in making 44.
