THE recent footage of a Polish girl dancing onboard an empty PIA plane was taken a bit too seriously by some people and media channels. There was nothing wrong and the girl was only dancing with a Pakistani flag wrapped around her. A challenge, known as ‘Kiki Challenge’, is making rounds globally and this act was a part of this challenge.

In a nation where hits on pornographic sites are the highest in the world, making an issue out of this video seems a bit too narrow mindedness.

Surprising was the fact that NAB, so busy in other things, took notice and initiated an inquiry. The poor girl was so embarrassed that she issued an apology.

We all are living in the 21st century. Things have changed and will change more in years to come. Look at the bastion of Islam, Saudi Arabia. They have reconciled with modern day realities. Those who resist change will vanish, never to be seen again.

THIS refers to editorial ‘Kiki Challenge furore’ (Aug15). It is annoying to know that NAB has taken notice of a video which went viral on social media showing a Polish tourist dancing in a PIA plane wrapped in Pakistani flag.

First, it is not NAB’s duty to call for a probe into such an accident. I think NAB must have other big fish to fry instead of this. Second, PIA would have taken the notice if there was anything wrong with this video.

This will surely discourage tourism in our country and foreigners will hesitate to travel Pakistan.

I have watched the video and did not find anything objectionable in it. Moreover, if we look at the dress of the Polish tourist in the video, she wore a typical Pakistani green shalwar and white qamiz, resembling a Pakistani flag. A foreign tourist celebrated our Independence Day and we must eulogise it.

We often see Europeans and US nationals, especially females wearing bikinis made up of their national flags. It does not mean that they do not respect their national flags.
