KARACHI, June 9: Five ships carrying DAP fertilizer, steel, containers and to load molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly active where 10 vessels, Banglar Doot to unload jute, Kota Wangsa, Hyundai Highway, Orient Prosperity, Sinar Bontang, Corin Thaikos and Y.M. Sun to unload and load containers, Lalazar, Nur Yanbu, to unload oil and chemical, and Heng Tai to offload and load general cargo were berthed.
Eight vessels, Kota Teraju, Tai He, APL Cairo, Maersk Alaska, Asian Trader, Swat, Chao Yang Men and Dellinaki departed on Thursday, while Orient Prosperity, Y.M. Sun, Golden Express, Botany Trust, Nur Yanbu and Lalazar are due to sail out on Friday.
Cargo handling activity also swelled to 0.120m tons owing to larger handling of liquid and dry import tonnage at 0.100m tons, while export cargo rose to 20,262 tons.
The following ships are due to Friday: Banga, to load 38,000 tons of molasses, Wan Hai-262, Sagamore to unload and load containers, Anagrita, with 24,722 tons of DAP fertilizer and Pacific Express, with 3,494 tons of steel.
