SCHOOLS in the interior of Sindh are deprived of basic facilities. With the positive impact of the bio-metric system many closed schools have made operational.

However, the courtyards of damaged schools are used as open classrooms for the deprived children of the villages. Where I currently work, there is only a boundary wall with a single tree which is a blessing for students, for it provides shelter from scorching sun, sizzling cold and rain. There is no water and washroom. There are several other ‘tree schools’ throughout the interior of Sindh.

No development is possible in education in Sindh unless such negligence is checked and steps are taken to improve the system.
