KARACHI, June 8: Teachers of Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences and Technology, Baba-i-Urdu Campus, started a two-hour strike on Wednesday against the ‘biased’ attitude of the university administration towards them. A general body meeting of teachers’ society of the Baba-i-Urdu campus, which was held a couple of days back with Suleman D. Mohammad in the chair, had decided to take immediate measures to get the status of university teachers and related entitlements for the teachers of the campus in question. The meeting noted that the university syndicate recently had denied promotions to the campus teachers and termed it a clear violation of the relevant ordinance.

It was decided in the meeting that the token strike would be observed from 10am to 12noon from on 8, 9 and 10 on the campus, and later, a complete strike would be launch till the teachers’ demands were met, said a press release.
