CHITRAL, June 6: Qazi Mohammad Ishaque, a local JUI leader, has demanded of the government to revise its decision of changing uniform of government-run schools in the province or at least exempt Chitral district from this decision. In a press statement here on Monday, he said that backwardness of the area and poverty of its people warranted that decision to introduce white shalwar qameez in schools should not be implemented here.

He said that the poor could not afford high cost of white uniform and its washing-up is also a hard task for them because most of them have only one pair of uniform. He has said that in the last general election, the people of Chitral had expressed confidence in MMA due to its slogans of austerity but the decision to introduce lavish uniforms had disappointed them.

SOLDIERS’ BODIES: The dead bodies of three jawans of the Chitral Scouts, who had died after having been hit by an avalanche at Rasheed sector a week ago, were brought to Chitral by army chopper from Skardu on Monday.

The coffin of Lance Naik Sher Hassan was sent to Broghil, that of sepoy Samiuddin to Terich and of Shujaur Rehman to Koghuzi from the headquarters of Chitral Scouts. The bodies were recovered after many days search on the glacier.
