ISLAMABAD, June 5: Tariq Aziz Secretary of the National Security Council, and Javed Khalid have been placed sixth in the Worldwide Bridge contest rankings in a field contested by 4100 pairs playing from 202 clubs in 31 countries. The worldwide contest is an annual feature in the World Bridge Federation (WBF) calendar.
Playing from the Rawalpindi - Islamabad segment, Tariq and Javed, who were placed 29th in the worldwide rankings in the first session with a 72.41 per cent score, came out with another brilliant 72.22 per cent in the second session to attain sixth position in the worldwide rankings.
The Rawalpindi-Islamabad Bridge Association held the local segment of the contest at the Islamabad Club on June 3 and 4.
The pair having top scored for the national rankings, also headed WBF Zone 4 rankings with a 71.56 per cent score.
