DHQ hospital

Published July 26, 2018

THE operation theatre of Naushahro Feroze’s District Headquarters hospital has been closed for the last three months as there is no anaesthetist available.

The DHQ hospital is running without a pathologist for seven years. It doesn’t have a surgeon for the last two years, while there is no cardiologist, radiologist, orthopedic surgeon or ENT specialist.

How is a district hospital supposed to function without these doctors? As there is no anaesthetist available, the gynaecologist cannot deal with surgery cases and refers patients to Nawabshah hospitals or private medical centres.

The Sindh health department should appoint an anaesthetist at DHQ hospital so that operation theatre can be reopened for pregnant women.
