DADU, June 5: Activists of the Sindh National Party took out a procession here on Sunday to protest against what they termed injudicious distribution of financial resources on the old formula. Led by the party’s chairman, Amir Bux Bhambhro, and secretary, Dilshad Ahmed Bhutto, the protesters marched through various thoroughfares of the city to hold a demonstration outside the press club.
Speaking to the protesters, their leaders said that Sindh contributed a major share to the country’s revenue, and yet, the government was depriving the province of its due share through the National Finance Commission award.
Asserting that Sindh would not accept the old NFC formula, they threatened to launch a campaign against the government if the award was distributed in such a manner.
They alleged that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was not taking up the case of Sindh effectively, and was causing loss to the province through the award.
