KARACHI: Moot on environment

KARACHI, June 5: In connection with the World Environment Day, a workshop on ISO-14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) and its applications will be held at the University of Karachi on June 6. The Vice-Chancellor of Karachi University, Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, will be the chief guest.

The moot will be held under the auspices of the Institute of Environmental Studies, University of Karachi.

The in charge of the institute, Dr Moazzam Ali Khan said that a large number of environmental friendly organizations were adopting the standards set forth by the ISO-14001 Environmental Management System (EMS).

He was of the view that the current situation of ISO-14001 (EMS) was encouraging in Pakistan.—APP
