KARACHI, June 5: The Imamia Students’ Organization on Sunday condemned the arrest of those injured in the attack on the Madinatul Ilm mosque and demanded immediate release of all innocent people. Speaking at a demonstration at the press club, ISO leaders, including Shajar Abbas Naqvi and Javad Naqvi, claimed that the current wave of sectarian violence was a conspiracy of the United States and Israel.
They urged political and religious leaders to avoid making hate-infested statements and demanded a judicial probe into the issue.
They alleged that the US created unrest in Pakistan before attacking Afghanistan and now it was creating rift between Shias and Sunnis as it was planning to attack Iran.
They urged Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed and Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Altaf Hussain not to involve the Millat-i-Jafferia in their political tussle. They expressed regret over MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar’s statement against Shia leaders.
They accused the media of biased reporting of the death of six people in the burning of a restaurant.
They criticized the attack on the Imam Khomeini Hospital and said at least 35 Sunnis were being treated there at the time. They said they were investigating the Malir incident.
They demanded that arrests of a large number of innocent people injured in the blast and other youth under the garb of investigations be stopped.
They said a countrywide protest movement would be launched if all the people arrested while protesting in other parts of the province against the bomb blast were not released and false cases registered against them withdrawn.
