Nine officers from the department of colleges failed to show up to collect materials related to their election-day duties, the district returning officer has complained.
The South sessions judge has sought an inquiry report into the matter which he says must be submitted within a week.
The judge has also ordered the director of colleges to conduct a departmental investigation in this regard.
Meanwhile, the DRO has issued orders that the concerned individuals not be paid their salaries until the matter is resolved.
