ECP Secretary Babar Yaqoob has asked the general public and media to double-check photos and posts being shared on social media to ensure it is not 'fake news'.

Yaqoob, in what probably was his last pre-election press conference, reminded voters that voting will continue uninterrupted from 8am to 6pm and told media that they will not be able to publish any results before 7pm.

The 8300 SMS service — which now tells you your polling station as well as your constituencies — has been used by over 15 million people.

The ECP secretary also urged all presiding officers to transfer results via Result Transmission System (RTS) as soon as they are compiled.
