RAHIM YAR KHAN: Six persons were allegedly injured in a clash between the supporters of two PML-N candidates at Tibba Zahir Pir area in Sadiqabad on Monday.

Police and locals said supporters of PML-N candidate for PP-267 Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq Anwar visited Tibba Zahir Pir during the election campaign. On receiving a complaint by locals about accumulation of sewage on road, they called Sadiqabad Municipal Corporation sanitation staff to resolve the issue.

Meanwhile, a local councillor Mian Farhad and his supporters belonging to the PML-N candidate for NA-180 Arshad Khan Leghari’s group arrived there and claimed that the sanitation staff was called by them.

After exchange of words a clash erupted between the two sides, resulting in injuries to six members of Leghari group, including Farhad.

Shafiq group’s leaders claimed that some of his supporters were also injured in the clash.

Police have registered a case against suspects belonging to Shafiq group.
