THIS is in reference to the coverage of the inauguration of the seminar room at CEJ-IBA, named after Pakistan’s eminent journalist, Razia Bhatti.
It is reported that one of the speakers regretted that Razia Bhatti was not given recognition nationally. To set the record straight, the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan conferred on Razia Bhatti (posthumously) the Nisar Osmani Award for Courage in Journalism — an award named after another equally courageous journalist.
The award, handed out by Asma Jahangir, was received by Razia Bhatti’s family at a ceremony held at the Karachi Press Club shortly after the journalist’s death.
