Asif gives team win

KARACHI, June 4: An all-important goal by Asif Baksh helped Sindh Muslim Club sail into the quarterfinal edging out Shahbaz Green Club 1-0 in the All-Karachi Nazir Hussain memorial football tournament on Saturday. The two teams played attacking game in the first half but neither managed to score any goal.

Shahbaz tried to cash in on several chances in the second half but for Sindh Muslim’s goalie Khurram who thwarted all their efforts.

It was Asif Buksh who broke the ice in the 40th minute slamming in a brilliant solo decider to seal a 1-0 victory for Sindh Muslim.

Goal-keeper Khurram received Man-of-the-Match award.—PPI
