In a rare development, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has removed a returning officer from Okara for his alleged partisan and issued orders to arrest an assistant returning officer and five others for their alleged involvement in tampering with postal ballot papers.
According to a Dawn report, the returning officer was removed from Okara district of Punjab while the ARO and polling officers were arrested from Sindh.
The ARO was trying to unseal packets containing postal ballots when he was arrested.
