BATTAGRAM: The local chapters of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Pakistan Muslim League-N and Pakistan Peoples Party held separate car rallies to show their strength before the July 25 elections.

The PTI rally was organised on the call of district president Yaqoob Khan. A large number of youth, workers and supporters from nook and corner of the district participated in the power show.

The rally started from Kas Pull and ended in Peshora after passing through Chattar Plain, Banian and Kuzabanda along the KKH.

Due to the rally, vehicular traffic on the road remained blocked, troubling the commuters.

Local political workers told Dawn that PTI candidate from PK-29 had paid money to owners of cars, bikes and rickshaws for fuel as he owned a petrol station in the area.

PTI candidate Yaqoob Khan, on the occasion, told the participants that the party would clean sweep the election. He said participation of large number of people in the rally pronounced that PTI was the only hope of bringing change in the country.

The PML-N and PPP’s local leadership also organised car rallies, which started from main Battagram Bazaar and ended at Batamori.

PML-N Battagram president Mahajareen asked the participants to strengthen the hands of jailed Nawaz Sharif by supporting his cause to give respect to the vote. He declared that Sharif family was not guilty of corruption and the former PM and his daughter came back to the country for love of the workers.
