The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has written to all returning officers (ROs) with instructions regarding the collection of information on election expenses incurred by candidates during their campaign runs.

The notice instructs all ROs to fill out 'Form C' and send expenditure details to the ECP of all successful candidates within 10 days of polling.

Expenditure details of non-successful candidates are required to be sent within 30 days of polling.

The candidates will be asked to submit to the ROs a statement of the bank account used for electioneering expenses as well as receipts of all expenses incurred.

Also, a copy each of all material printed for campaigning purposes must be submitted, along with the name and contact information of the publisher.

The commission warned of strict action against those who fail to submit the information required within the stipulated time.

The ROs have also been asked to issue show-cause notices to all those who fail to file the required details and report any such instances to the ECP.
