BATKHELA: Hussain Khan, a physically challenged person, is a candidate for NA-8 Malakand. He is determined to face PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, PTI former MNA Junaid Akbar Khan, MMA provincial president Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan and others in the polls for the seat.

The local people said that candidature of Hussain Khan manifested the beauty of democracy in Malakand. He is determined to face heavyweights like Bilawal, Junaid Khan and Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan.

Hussain Khan, a small businessman of tea leaves, drives his car with the help of arms and runs his election campaign smoothly. He advocates for real change in the area while canvassing to get sympathy of the voters.

Mr Khan told this scribe that he would provide people of the area with jobs, education and health facilities on their doorsteps if he was elected MNA.

He said that he wanted to make the politicians realise that they had done nothing during the past 70 years. He added that rulers plundered national exchequer and made properties in foreign countries.

The physically challenged candidate said that people should learn a lesson from him. “People like me beg in the streets but I am committed to stand on my feet and help others,” he said.

Mr Khan said that he wanted to serve the poor people of the area. He asked the people of Malakand to reject the seasonal politicians. He said that his victory would spread a message that people were fed up of the old parties and politicians and they didn’t need them anymore.

“I am handicapped by birth but I never put burden on society,” he said, adding that after passing his Secondary School Certificate examination, he started the small business of selling tea leaves and plastic shoppers.
