Maulana Khalil leaves the marquee where he met Asad Umar.

In a strange move, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader Asad Umar, who is contesting from NA-54 (Islamabad), has teamed up with the former head of a militant group that is banned by the United Nations.

Umar, who is apparently leading the race for the NA-54 seat against his main rival Anjum Aqeel of the PML-N, held a meeting with Ansarul Ummah leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman Khalil and some other clerics.

The official Facebook page of the party titled ‘NA540Islamabad’ even said that Maulana Khalil has joined the PTI.

Complete details of their meet-up can be read here.
