A Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) candidate for a National Assembly seat from Attock, Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, survived an attack as an unidentified gunman opened fire on his vehicle on Monday night.

Sources close to the PML-N candidate told Dawn that Mr Ahmed’s car came under attack when he was returning home in Attock city after addressing a corner meeting in connection with his election campaign at Kamra.

They said two bullets hit the car of Mr Ahmed who luckily remained unhurt. The attacker fled the scene taking advantage of the darkness.
