While other political parties vying for votes in Karachi have failed to come up with a plan to solve the city's rising civic issues, the PTI should at least be appreciated for its effort to come up with a plan for the city, an editorial published in Dawn reads.
Although the plan, which calls for desalination as a solution to the city's water problems and creation of energy from waste, has been criticised by some experts, it still is a starting point.
Emotional slogans about representing Karachi and having its mandate are not enough; the voters want clean streets, water in their taps and the mountains of garbage that line the city’s roads cleared away. Whoever wants to represent Karachi must address these problems.
