KARACHI: Caretaker Chief Minister Fazl-ur-Rahman has said that the interim Sindh government has taken all possible measures for conducting fair and free general elections on July 25 in the province.

All political parties had been provided level playing field for their electioneering, he added.

But the CM expressed his concern over indifferent attitude of some candidates for violating the code of conduct. He directed all the candidates to abide by the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan during electioneering.

He stated this during a meeting with Senate’s Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwalla who called on him here at the CM House on Monday. The two exchanged views in detail about the conduct of the forthcoming general elections and arrangements taken by the government for free, fair and transparent elections. Caretaker Minister Dost Mohammad Chandio was also present in the meeting.

Referring to the security steps, the CM said the government had provided full security to all candidates and also taken due measures for the maintenance of law and order during the elections. Besides security, conducive atmosphere was also ensured to all political parties for carrying out their election campaigns, he said.
