FAISALABAD: In a shocking incident, bodies of two minor brothers who had gone missing on Saturday were recovered from a pond in Mansoorabad on Sunday.

According to locals, three-year-old Rehan Sohail and his elder brother Ayyan Sohail (7), sons of Sohail, a resident of Mian pind, Siddique Akbar Town, had gone missing on Saturday.

The parents, relatives and locals looked for them, but of no avail.

After failing to find his sons, Sohail reported the matter to police, but in vain.

On Sunday morning, some locals found the body of one of the missing brothers floating in a pond in the area and informed the Rescue 1122 about it.

The emergency service personnel retrieved the body that was identified by Sohail as his son.

Soon after, the body of the other child was also recovered from the pond.

The police concerned took the bodies in custody and shifted them to the Allied Hospital for the postmortem examination.

The police claimed they had registered a case pertaining to the missing children on Saturday.

They said that cause of the minors’ death would be ascertained in the light of the autopsy reports which were awaited.
