A FEW months ago, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) took the laudable step of reducing interview marks by half, that is, from 50 to 25.
Another remarkable step was the provision of question sheets to candidates.
A serious issue is the announcement of the Provincial Management Services (PMS) screening test result. The candidates claimed that they got less marks than what they deserved. Furthermore, the final interview result of Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) also resulted in protests, alleging the KPPSC gave higher marks to those having political influence.
To ensure transparency and merit in real sense, the KPPSC chairman should upload the answer keys for all tests in future the next day if not immediately after the test.
Moreover, the interview marks should be reduced to 10 to decrease the subjectivity or human element in the selection process.
