Bid to smuggle hashish foiled

KOHAT, June 2: The Anti-Narcotics Force, Kohat, intercepted a truck on the main Indus Highway allegedly carrying a huge quantity of hashish to Punjab from the tribal areas and arrested its driver on Wednesday night. Two other alleged smugglers, however, managed to escape taking advantage of the dark, officials said.

The ANF team, which had received a tip about the attempt to smuggle hashish to Faisalabad through the Indus Highway, intercepted the truck near the Friendship Tunnel, recovered 332 kilograms of fine quality hashish from it and arrested its driver, Saib Khan.

KILLED : A young man was killed allegedly by his cousin over a petty dispute in Lachi Town on Thursday.
