PESHAWAR: A man committed suicide after killing his wife on Sunday over unknown reasons, police said.

An official of Inqilab police station told Dawn that the man and his wife were identified as Rehman Gul and Nadia Gul, residents of Ahmad Khel village. Niaz Gul, father of Rehman Gul, informed the police that his son came home after his checkup by a doctor as he was feeling pain in his stomach.

Then, he went to his room, but after sometime they heard gunshots, the complainant said, adding when they rushed to the room, both Niaz and his wife were found lying in a pool of blood.

Police said the woman died instantly while her husband was rushed to the Lady Reading Hospital where he expired after sometime.

The official said as per preliminary report there was no issue in the family which could cause such a tragic incident.
