BANNU: Seven people, including a candidate of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, were injured in an explosion during an election rally near Takhtikhel canal on Saturday.

Shereen Maalik, who is contesting election from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly constituency PK-89 Bannu-III, was heading his election rally to the Bakakhel area when an improvised explosive device planted on a motorcycle went off.

The other injured were identified as Hazrat Ali, Sher Amal, Habibullah Khan, Zer Mohammad Khan, Sherzad and Rizwan. They were taken to the district headquarters hospital in Bannu and discharged after treatment.
