
In the previous two elections, the MQM blew the competition away in this area. Today, however, the realities are much different.
Not only are there more and stronger competitors, but the MQM itself is split and is no longer the same force it used to be in Karachi.
As a Dawn report today points out:
This time the party [MQM] might have to struggle a lot more to repeat its past performance as getting 90,000 plus votes, under the present circumstances, would be an uphill task.
