KASUR: The Kot Radha Kishan police lodged a case against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf candidate for NA-138 Rashid Tufail and his guards for show of weapons during electioneering on Tuesday.

According to the first information report registered under 13-2(A) and 11-B of Punjab Arms Ordinance 2015, and sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and 109 (abetment) of the Pakistan Penal Code, the guards of Mr Tufail exhibited weapons near the main bazaar of Kot Radha Kishan in violation of the election code of conduct. Sub-Inspector Muhammad Arshad is complainant in the case.

SHAHBAZ SHARIF: Former chief minister Shahbaz Sharif cancelled his visit to Kasur due to weather conditions on Tuesday. He was to address a workers’ convention at a wedding hall in Kot Radha Kishan’s NA-138 constituency. He will visit Kasur on July 11 and address a convention in Khudian, the home town of Punjab government spokesperson Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan.

DIES: A 15-year-old boy died while his father suffered serious injuries when the roof of their house caved in due to heavy rains on Tuesday at village Shero Kahna in Kot Radha Kishan.

Munir with his father Muhammad Sharif was at home when the roof caved in. Local residents and Rescue 1122 took out the body of Munir from debris and rushed Sharif to the Kot Radha Kishan Civil Hospital.

Also, Muhammad Jamil, of village Rasoolnagar, was electrocuted while cutting fodder at an electric machine on Tuesday. The boundary wall of the DPO office also collapsed during heavy rains. A car parked near the wall was damaged. Also, an unidentified woman is feared drowned in the canal near village Chakokey.

According to some eyewitnesses, the woman got off a bus near the canal bridge and jumped into the canal. Locals tried to rescue her but strong currents swept her away. Rescue 1122 were trying to find her.

THEFT: Thieves stole gold, cash, and other valuables worth about Rs500,000 from the house of Additional Session Judge Asfar Habib on Tuesday at Ghousia Colony in Pattoki.

Mr Habib is posted in Vehari while his family was out of house when the thieves broke into the house. The Pattoki Police entered a case.
